Premier Homecare Angels

Let us help you grow your business through the web

The website had inherited serious technical problems from its previous management, including malware-related issues, suspicious pages appearing in Google's index, non-English Japanese and Chinese-style search results, and URLs that did not correspond with legitimate pages inside the WordPress dashboard.

Premier Homecare Angels: Recovering a Compromised Website and Rebuilding Its Search Foundation

Client: Premier Homecare Angels
Website: phangels.com
Industry: In-Home Senior Care
Market: East Bay, California
Engagement: 4 Months and Ongoing
Scope: Website Recovery, Technical SEO, Performance Optimisation, Organic Search, Local SEO, AI Visibility

When I took over Premier Homecare Angels, the priority was not simply increasing rankings. Before an SEO campaign could properly move forward, the underlying website had to be stabilised and cleaned.

The Initial Problem

The website was showing symptoms commonly associated with a compromised WordPress installation. Google had indexed pages containing foreign-language characters and content that had nothing to do with Premier Homecare Angels or its home care services. Some of these URLs did not appear as normal WordPress pages inside the administration dashboard, making the issue more complicated than simply deleting unwanted content. The site also experienced availability and performance problems, including an outage that required further investigation and recovery work.

This created several risks:

  • search index contamination
  • irrelevant pages competing with legitimate service content
  • reduced trust from search engines
  • poor crawl efficiency
  • potential security vulnerabilities
  • declining user experience
  • weakened SEO performance

Website Recovery & Malware Cleanup

My first priority was to recover control of the website and identify the technical issues behind the unwanted pages. The work involved addressing compromised files and WordPress-related problems, removing or neutralising malicious content, cleaning up unwanted URLs, and working through Google's index to remove pages that should never have existed. This was especially important because some of the spam-generated pages were not visible as standard content inside the WordPress dashboard.

The objective was to restore a clean relationship between:

WordPress → Website Files → Search Engine Index

instead of allowing compromised URLs to continue appearing in search.

Search Index Cleanup

Once the malicious content was addressed, the next stage focused on repairing Google's understanding of the site. This involved identifying unwanted indexed URLs and separating them from legitimate service, location, and informational pages. The goal was not just to remove spam. It was to rebuild a cleaner search architecture so Google could focus its crawl and ranking signals on actual Premier Homecare Angels content.

Website Performance Optimisation

Performance has also been part of the recovery process. A current GTmetrix test shows:

Performance: 70%
Structure: 75%
Largest Contentful Paint: 2.6 seconds
Total Blocking Time: 55ms
Cumulative Layout Shift: 0.07

The website still has room for additional performance improvements, but low blocking time and layout shift indicate that the site has a workable technical foundation from which further optimisation can continue.

SEO Campaign

With the site stabilised, the project has moved into ongoing SEO. The campaign focuses on strengthening Premier Homecare Angels' visibility for in-home care, senior care, Alzheimer's care, dementia support, personal care, and related services across the East Bay.

Work includes:

  • technical SEO
  • on-page optimisation
  • service-page development
  • location-page architecture
  • content strategy
  • internal linking
  • crawl and indexing management
  • competitor research
  • authority building
  • local search visibility

Current Organic Search Footprint

A current SEMrush snapshot shows approximately:

196 organic keywords
165 estimated organic visits
147 referring domains
337 backlinks
27% traffic share

The site is still in a rebuilding and growth stage, which is important context. This is not a finished SEO campaign. The first months included substantial technical remediation before growth work could operate on a cleaner foundation.

Search Intent Opportunity

The current keyword profile shows that approximately:

51.5% of tracked keywords are commercial
33.5% are informational

This is encouraging for the wider strategy because the website already has relevance across both users researching care options and people closer to choosing a provider. That provides a foundation for building content across the full decision journey:

Research → Compare → Evaluate → Contact

AI Search Visibility

Premier Homecare Angels is also beginning to establish visibility beyond conventional Google results.

Current tracked metrics show:

AI Visibility: 19
8 AI mentions
12 cited pages

Tracked visibility includes appearances across AI-driven search experiences such as ChatGPT, Google's AI features, and Gemini. The long-term objective is to make the website technically clean and sufficiently authoritative that its service and educational content can be discovered across both traditional and generative search environments.

Competitive Positioning

Premier Homecare Angels operates in a competitive East Bay home care market against established providers with larger existing organic footprints. Current competitive data shows PH Angels competing alongside sites such as Alice Home Care, HomeNow Healthcare, Premium Care Home Care, Alameda HHS, and other regional providers. Rather than trying to imitate those sites, the strategy is to build stronger topical depth around Premier Homecare Angels' actual services and geographic coverage.

Next Phase: Paid Search

The owner is also considering Google Ads as the next acquisition channel. That is a logical next step now that the underlying website is more stable. The objective would not be to use paid search as a replacement for SEO. Instead, it would create a complementary acquisition system:

Google Ads → Service Landing Page → Care Assessment / Enquiry → Follow-Up

while organic SEO continues building long-term visibility. The paid campaign should initially focus on high-intent service searches and tightly controlled geographic targeting rather than broad traffic acquisition.

The Bigger Result

The most important result during the first four months has been restoring a usable digital foundation. Premier Homecare Angels went from dealing with malware-related pages, contaminated search results, technical instability, and website availability problems to having a cleaner platform from which an actual growth strategy can operate. The next stage is about building on that foundation through stronger service content, local visibility, authority, AI search presence, and eventually paid search. For this project, the work is not simply SEO. It is the ongoing process of repairing, stabilising, and rebuilding the digital architecture behind the business.
